Just enjoy the fact that this is used somewhere in Mexico and it used to belong to a drug dealer that got caught.

So long as it was taken from a legit crook and not in some kind of civil asset forfeiture scheme like exists in many deplorable craphole parts of Murka.

I’m pretty certain we have a version of that, but our courts tend to be very aggressive with police departments, so they don’t get to keep price money. When assets are seized here they go on an auction normally made by the local or state tax agency branch.

TIL they use 911 down there, too.

and an SLK, and for some stupid reason Mexico City has a fleet of Jeep Wranglers.
We have some bizarre police departments.

Haha!, I was thinking 9-1-1 the emergency number, not the Porsche, but they do have some interesting police vehicles.

Ah, yeah we switched to 911 a few months ago... it used to be 088.

I think it’s probably a good move. Here, you can dial 911 on any cell phone without charge. Nice to have that standard across borders.

Given our “cultural proximity” to the US, I think it’s a good move, but I think the best solution to the problem (fastest to dial, easiest to remember) goes to Australia and their “Triple-o”
So it’s better than the alternative, some states had 088, some had 066, some had 066 for police and 088 for rescue and fire fighters. But when it comes to law enforcement were decades behind in most aspects. Still, if you dial 066, 088, or 911 you get redirected to dispatch. If you dial the “locatel” which is a government services hotline you can also request to be sent to dispatch...
